Join us on a journey through the milestones that have shaped <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ptvgroup.com\/en\/products\/pedestrian-simulation-software-ptv-viswalk\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.ptvgroup.com\/en\/products\/pedestrian-simulation-software-ptv-viswalk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PTV Viswalk<\/a> over the past 18 years and discover how it developed into the powerful simulation model it is today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-welcome-to-the-world-ptv-viswalk-is-born\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Welcome to the world: PTV Viswalk is born<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On <strong>July 30th 2008<\/strong> the first setup package of \u201cVissim with pedestrians\u201d was uploaded to the setups server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Time to have a look through the photo album. From its mother <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ptvgroup.com\/en\/products\/ptv-vissim\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.ptvgroup.com\/en\/products\/ptv-vissim\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PTV Vissim<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ptvgroup.com\/en\/products\/pedestrian-simulation-software-ptv-viswalk\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.ptvgroup.com\/en\/products\/pedestrian-simulation-software-ptv-viswalk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PTV Viswalk<\/a> did not only inherit a decent 3D look, but also it was able to cross a road from its first day on, strictly obeying red traffic lights<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Already half a year later, it learned how to queue orderly. What it also did \u2013 and what children of that age should not do \u2013 was that it walked stairs all alone. It fell off more than once and learned how to avoid that with its first birthday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Short time later it learned how to ride trains and busses. It even started to explore the world on Partial Routes before its second birthday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Given that it exhibited all these abilities so early, it may come as a surprise that it struggled \u2013 at least when in groups \u2013 with rounding corners until after its second birthday. Only then it exhibited potential \u2013 Dynamic Potential to be precise \u2013 to also master this task.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-ptv-viswalk-turns-three\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">PTV Viswalk turns three<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the age of three, when it began to get around independently of its mother <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ptvgroup.com\/en\/products\/ptv-vissim\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.ptvgroup.com\/en\/products\/ptv-vissim\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PTV Vissim<\/a>, was when it was baptized. So, might it become a model? Maybe. In fact, Walking Attractiveness has already become a model for a model of crowd dynamics that balances the force-based and the potential-based approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All along the way, it learned how to run faster and attended ever larger scenes and crowds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-finally-of-legal-age\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Finally of legal age<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ptvgroup.com\/en\/products\/pedestrian-simulation-software-ptv-viswalk\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.ptvgroup.com\/en\/products\/pedestrian-simulation-software-ptv-viswalk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PTV Viswalk<\/a> officially is a grown-up now! The only thing left to ask is: What is next? Naturally, getting a drivers&#8217; license to connect to cars as it has connected to public transport so early? Maybe. But why not learn how to jump on a bike and ride it \u2013 on the road or through a crowd of pedestrians? Or maybe learn how to walk with a group?
