This technology significantly improves traffic efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability. The potential of V2I communication, e.g. for smart signalization strategies, can be analyzed in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ptvgroup.com\/en\/products\/ptv-vissim\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PTV Vissim<\/a>, a leading multimodal traffic simulation tool, in conjunction with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.schlothauer.de\/software-lisa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">LISA<\/a>-controlled traffic lights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-challenge-of-traffic-control\"><strong>The Challenge of Traffic Control<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Managing urban traffic efficiently is a complex task. Road space is limited, and conflicting vehicle movements often create congestion and inefficiencies at intersections. Traditionally, traffic control systems relied on fixed-time signals or detection-based adaptive systems. While detection already allows for a reaction to the current traffic situation, it relies on external observation of traffic participants and does not know e.g. about the purpose of a vehicle movement like a first responder vehicle or other factors influencing priority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ptv-vissim-a-powerful-traffic-simulation-tool\"><strong>PTV Vissim: A Powerful Traffic Simulation Tool<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ptvgroup.com\/en\/products\/ptv-vissim\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PTV Vissim<\/a> is a multimodal microscopic traffic simulation software that models individual vehicle interactions with infrastructure, including signal-controlled intersections.
